Welcome to Field Photographer

This project started as a conversation between three friends, three friends in vastly different places in life – all of whom would have their lives drastically change over the next year. It’s only through hardship, a lot of work and a shared and enduring love of both adventure and photography, that this site became a reality. Well… All that and an impulse buy on the domain name.

When we sat in Andrew’s office dreaming up this site, now more than 5 yrs ago, we outlined the three main focusses of the project: Photography, adventure and the gear required. We also had an idea for a breathalyzer ap, that idea didn’t pan out, so here we are.

“Photography is a strange thing, wonderful and full of diversity, it’s a craft that can be and endlessly refined while remaining surprisingly unchanged.”

It’s our hope that we can bring our expertise, passion, experience and knowledge to this project and hopefully set you out on your next adventure better prepared or at least more so than we normally are for our adventures. We also want to provide a platform for you to share your adventures and misadventures, so if you have an idea or would like to  tell your story, make a submission.

Photography is a strange thing, wonderful and full of diversity, it’s a craft that can be and endlessly refined while remaining surprisingly unchanged.    Throughout most of my life I’ve been in love with photography and adventure. It’s with great pleasure I get to launch this new project focussed not only on these subjects, but with two of the greatest friends a guy could have. We think we have something special here and are very excited to share it with you when we launch on April 15th.

So on behalf of myself, Cullen Marriott and Andrew Tonn, thank you for your support thus far and here’s to all the adventures to come.
